Cancellation & refund policy

  • Minimum Numbers: This trip requires 8 confirmed travelers by December 10, 2026. If minimum numbers are not met, Mad Monkey may cancel the trip and refund all payments.
  • If We Cancel due to minimum numbers not being met your deposit is fully refundable.
  • If You Cancel After minimum numbers are met, the trip is confirmed and all payments are non-refundable.

Travel insurance: We strongly recommend a policy that includes “Cancel for Any Reason” (CFAR). This is your best protection if you need to pull out due to work, health, or personal reasons.

FAQ — everything you need to know

  • Do I need to have backpacking experience?
    No. This trip is beginner-friendly. All transport, accommodation, and activities are organised for you — you just need to show up ready for adventure.
  • What kind of luggage should I bring?
    We recommend a backpack or medium-sized suitcase (hostels and boats are easier to navigate without oversized luggage).
  • What if I don’t know anyone?
    That’s completely normal — most travellers join solo. You’ll be added to a private Instagram group before the trip so you can connect with everyone ahead of time.
  • Is this a party trip?
    This is a social, high-energy trip with boat parties and nightlife built in — but it also includes beach days, adventure activities, and downtime. You can participate as much or as little as you like.
  • Can I skip activities if I want to relax?
    Absolutely. While group activities are included, you’re free to opt out of anything and enjoy free time instead.
  • What if I get sick or injured?
    Travel insurance is mandatory. Hosts and local staff will assist you in accessing medical care if needed, but medical costs are your responsibility and must be covered by insurance.
  • Will there be WiFi?
    Yes — all Mad Monkey locations have WiFi, though speeds may vary depending on island location.
  • Is there a payment plan available?
    Yes. You can secure your spot with a deposit, then pay the remaining balance in scheduled installments before departure. All payment deadlines will be shared after booking. Missed payments may result in your spot being released.
  • Is there a minimum number of travellers required?
    All trips require a minimum of confirmed travellers to be officially confirmed. If this minimum is not met by the deposit date, the trip will be cancelled and all payments will be fully refunded.
